Second Jean Monnet International Conference Zagreb 2016 have been organized at the Faculty of Political Science University of Zagreb on 9 December 2016. The focus of this Jean Monnet Conference were key challenges facing the rule of law in the Western Balkans: judicial system, fight against organized crime, public administration reform, fundamental rights, freedom of expression, but foremost political corruption. Speakers from the region and abroad consisting from distinguished professors and also from young researchers presented their findings and research on corruption in theoretical and comparative perspective, including administrative and political corruption, effectiveness of Europeanization of anti-corruption in the region with case studies.
This conference gathered academics from different universities, but also practitioners and experts from international institutions and non-governmental organisations that are dealing with corruption. This conference included experts from Faculty of Political Science Zagreb, Faculty of Law Zagreb, University of Graz, The Institute for Economics Zagreb, University of Sussex-UK, Central European University-Hungary, University of Milan-Italy, University of Oslo, University of Szeged- Hungary, University of Podgorica, Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) and Youth for Human Rights International.
